 Often described as energetic (if not outright hyper), Fabrizio provides the frighteningly precise but organic drums for The Strokes. Strangely, he has actually been mistaken for a drum machine for his work on Is This It. Much to his chagrin. Understandably.
As the son of a former cruise ship musician, it probably didn't come as much of a surprise to Papa and Mama Moretti that Fab developed an interest in music. He started young, but the development of The Strokes pushed him further down the line in his practice. Today, he is disgustingly good, really, and gives much of himself to each and every performance. The April 2002 performance on Late Night With David Letterman saw an exhausted Fab melodramatically drape himself across his drum kit at the end of a particularly enervating "Take It Or Leave It."

O T H E R " F U N " F A C T S
- His original professional ambition was to teach art. He was quite obviously sidetracked.
- Sculpts and paints. Is reportedly quite good.
- Broke his wrist falling out of a bus in mid-2001 while on tour. Was replaced by friend and drum tech Matt Romano.
- Kimya Dawson of The Moldy Peaches is Fab's cousin.
